HTC launches into a new marketing strategy

A change of management at HTC could give the company the boost it needs marketing to increase sales

HTC announced changes in terms of personnel and strategy in order to boost its smartphone sector.

The Taiwanese manufacturer has revealed that his marketing director, Jason MacKenzie, will lead the company's sales division.

The new head of marketing will be Benjamin Ho, who will test a strategy of "Marketing 2.0" from January 2013.

"We welcome Benjamin from HTC and we look forward to integrating global marketing capabilities it brings to society," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.

Despite a combined production of high quality and a kind of re-branding its range of "One", sales of HTC continued to fall short of expectations.

Revenues fell for four consecutive quarters and the market share of HTC are still declining, while investor confidence and stock prices of the company have fallen in the past year.

HTC needs a plan to reverse the situation scholar, and the injection of new blood seems to be a good idea.

Whether or not Ho brings this change remains to be seen.
